Ticket sales for the Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival have broken all records this year.

The festival runs from Wednesday, September 19 until Sunday, September 22.

Among the big names in the line-up are Jenny Eclair, James Runcie, Kirsty Wark, Joanne Harris, Louis de Bernieres and Susie Orbach, along with many more best-selling writers of fiction and non-fiction, and award-winning journalists.

As well as their talks and presentations, there will be workshops and plenty of events for children and young people.

The festival takes place at venues around the town including the Playhouse, the Public Hall, three churches and the library.

The hub will be the festival marquee on The Green, with a café, a licensed bar and a pop-up branch of Waterstones, where most of the authors at the festival will be signing copies of their books.

There will be live music in the evenings.

A special beer has been brewed for this year's festival, find out more here
