Youngsters enjoy picnic at Exmouth park

More than 100 people attended a free teddy bear’s picnic in Exmouth

SMILEY-faced youngsters savoured what could be the last of the good summer weather by enjoying a teddy bear picnic at Exmouth’s Phear Park.

Children got into the spirit of the themed picnic, held on Saturday, September 25, by wearing fancy dress and some had their faces painted.

The event, organised by the Phear Park caf, run by Leisure East Devon, was free of charge.

Hannah Wells, 20, who works in the caf, said more than 100 people attended the picnic.

“It was really cute to see the young children who were dressed in bear outfits. Everybody seemed to have enjoyed themselves.”

Staff from the World of Country Life, in Littleham, took a vintage fire engine to the event as well as owls from the visitor attraction.
