A subterranean section of Exmouth town centre has had a makeover thanks to creative schoolchildren.

The Marine Way underpass has been painted by pupils from Exeter Road, Withycombe Raleigh, St Joseph’s, Marpool, Littleham and Bassett’s Farm schools, with artist Hayley Watson, who came up with the base idea for the artwork.

The project has been run by East Devon District Council’s (EDDC) community development service and Exmouth Town Council. The art will be officially unveiled on August 31, with the artists putting the finishing touches to their work. EDDC thanked Wilson’s Paints, for supplying the base paints, and Bargainarts, for discounted spray paints.
