A YACHT broke down in a potentially dangerous position and was taking water off the coast of Exmouth last Friday.
Just after midday Exmouth Coastwatchers in the Watchtower spotted that the yacht ‘Feasibility’ had dropped anchor in mid-channel opposite the StuartLine and Tiger Fishing landing stage.
They reported the incident to Brixham Coastguard who was told that the vessel was taking on water.
The yacht was fixed an hour later, upped anchor and continued on her way to Torquay.
Arnold Kanarek, Media Officer for National Coastwatch Institution, said: “The owners of Feasibility contacted Brixham Coastguards and asked them to commend Exmouth for their help and vigilance.”
