From the War Journals: Making the news in the Exmouth Journal on this week in 1944.

Crisis Clippings: This week we learn with regret of the death of Major C. Roy Harris, 32, a former pupil of Exmouth Grammar School.

Also in the news: A valuable watch, which was presented to the Topsham Sailing Club, turned up after having gone missing for more than seven years. The timepiece was found by a boy and his mother while picking cockles at Dawlish Warren.

Advert: A la Ronde - The Round House with the Shell Gallery: Admission: 1/-.

More: Each week we bring you clippings taken from the Journal, printed on this week in 1944. To see more from the War Journal archives, join our Facebook nostalgia group, Devon Memories.
