A commemorative history board has been unveiled in one of Exmouth in Bloom’s planted areas to mark the 40th anniversary of a town tourist hotspot.
The board, which tells the tale of World of Country Life through the decades, was unveiled by mayor Jeff Trail and Exmouth in Bloom volunteers.
Volunteer gardeners suggested the idea to staff from World of Country Life, who have been organising various events to mark four decades of the Littleham-based attraction.
Cllr Trail officially untied the ribbon on the board which will sit in one of the planted areas near the Marks and Spencer Foodhall.
A spokesperson for Exmouth in Bloom thanked James Turner and Debbie Butler, of World of Country Life, for organising the unveiling ceremony.
Debbie added: “It’s great to remind people that were up here in Exmouth and we celebrating our anniversary.
“The board shares the history of the park right from conception 40 years ago right until the present day – we’re really pleased with it.”
