PLANNED maintenance work to an Exmouth railway bridge in Carter Avenue, scheduled to commence on Monday for five months, may not go ahead.
Initially a public notice issued by Devon Council Council has stated that a section of
Carter Avenue would be off limits to traffic from Monday.
From September 28 until Friday February 12 County highways bosses had planned to close part of the road so maintenance work on Carter's bridge could be carried out.

But contractors Atkins, on behalf of the County Council, said the work may be put on hold - and could not confirm whether the work would indeed commence as planned until early next week.
