Hundreds of additional recycling bags are being provided to residents in Woodbury next year as part of a district council trial.

In March 2019, some 850 households will be provided with a while foldaway collection bag and will be asked to fill these with cardboard instead of using the traditional green boxes.

The trial scheme is being funded by East Devon District Council’s (EDDC) recycling contractor SUEZ and will hold regular community engagement events during the trial to monitor how its going.

Woodbury has been chosen for the trial as it has a mix of properties and makes up a single collection round with one crew.

Councillor Tom Wright, EDDC portfolio holder for the environment, said: “We will be grateful for any help that the residents of Woodbury can give us.”

Mark Canning, regional manager for SUEZ, said: “Trials like these help us to adapt the service so it is fit for the future needs of East Devon residents.”
