GENOROUS golfers have raised more than £2000 for charity.

John Bridgman and Jan Morrison, former captains of Woodbury Park Golf Club, based at Woodbury Castle, raised the money for Hospiscare.

The charity provides care and support to people with life-threatening illnesses who live in East Devon.

The golfers, whose reign as captains will soon end, had to nominate a charity while undertaking the role.

David Clements, an administrator at the golf club, said staff from Hospiscare who collected the cheque were delighted.

"The money was raised from a series of events held throughout the year at the club.
