THE LANDLADY of a Withycombe pub is looking forward to a three-day fundraising event, hoping to collect a substantial amount of money for charity.
The Withycombe Raleigh Regatta, in aid of Devon Air Ambulance, takes place between next Friday, August 28 and Bank Holiday Monday at the Country House Inn.
Elizabeth Eshun, landlady of the inn, said there would be a number of entertaining activities taking place.
They include face painting, a bingo night, darts and pool competition, a soccer target event and coconut shy.
The Withycombe Raleigh Regatta is an annual event and organised by the Country House Inn's committee.
One of the main features will be a home made duck race in the stream at the back of the pub.
Elizabeth said: "This is one of our biggest events of the year. Last year we managed to raise more than 3000. We hope to exceed that this time around.
