REPORTS a windsurfer was in difficulty off Exmouth on Thursday morning sparked the launch of the all-weather lifeboat.
The RNLI crew was alerted after a passer-by spotted windsurf equipment on the beach, which he believed had been washed up, and contacted the coastguards.
The inshore lifeboat crew was on standby as the all-weather boat searched the water.
The search was called off when the windsurfer was found safe and well on the shore.
