Who are you trying to fool?

I have lived in Exmouth for more than 20 years now and, during that time, I have read the Journal every week and have never felt compelled to write a letter until now.

That was until I read the Exmouth Town Council Conservative group members letter from last week, in which they attempt their latest smoke screen into fooling us that they want to keep the fight for Rolle College non-political.

Since taking control of the county council, both county and Exmouth council conservative members have, on a weekly basis, blamed the previous Lib-Dem administration for being too slow in the purchase of Rolle, never missing an opportunity to pass the buck and laying the blame squarely onto their shoulders.

Even in their letter, they have yet another thinly disguised swipe at the Lib-Dems, stating how disappointed they were that the site was not previously purchased quickly enough, very non-political.

Isn't it the case that Jill Elson and the rest of the Conservatives in the town council are trying to distance themselves from their county council Conservative colleagues, because they are ashamed at the way they have treated the people of Exmouth with contempt yet again, knowing full well that this betrayal will not be forgotten come the next local election.

Non-political, who are you trying to fool?

Mr T Irwin,

Victoria Rd,

Exmouth.
