What a poor show

What has happened to Exmouth Christmas lights? Is it true they have been given away to Taunton? If so, why?
The reason, as far as the residents of Exmouth have been told, is the council cannot afford the lights this year. Considering all-year charges have been chargeable in the car parks during the winter months, this alone would have generated enough income to provide Christmas lights. This year, along the seafront also has all year charges - again, more revenue.
The town is becoming very run down and not attracting visitors, which the town really needs. The attraction to increase visitors is free parking to encourage people into the town centre; also, more of it. The Magnolia Centre also needs a facelift (tastefully and not ultra modern).
Considering Exmouth is the largest town in East Devon, it is a poor show.
