RUSTING oyster racks, some as much as 20 years old, have been removed from the bed of the Exe Estuary.

As part of the Exe Estuary Spring Clean-up, Devon Fisheries teamed up with Exmouth Mussels, River Exe Shellfish Farms and Natural England to clear some of the old oyster racks from the estuary.

The team spent a very muddy few hours removing the old racks which had become unusable and were slipping into the deeper channel.
