Thefts were reported to Exmouth police on Wednesday morning (July 9) - crime victims admitting they had not locked their back doors.
Sergeant Nick Southern said: "I just can't get my head around the fact people leave their back door open or unlocked overnight - we have someone in Exmouth who is looking for these opportunities."
Police warned the public over the presence of opportunist criminals in May - as more than a dozen burglaries occurred in just two months earlier in summer.
Detective Constable Mike Chalmers warned homeowners and tenants: "The first thing is to lock doors and close gates. An open gate is an invitation for someone to walk in.
