The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning acrosss the South West today (Wednesday), with gusts of 65-to-70mph likely.
Devon is set to be battered by strong winds today (Wednesday) with a yellow weather warning in place.
It comes as the Met Office issues a series of weather warnings across the country, including for snow.
But sadly the white stuff seems unlikely, as the region is forecast to instead have outbreaks of heavy rain.
The warning, which comes into place at 9am and lasts until 7am on Thursday, is for ‘strong winds’.
A chief forecaster for the Met Office said: “Gusts of 65-to-70 mph are expected along exposed coasts and over high ground such as the mountains of Wales, the moors of South West England and the Pennines.
“Gusts of 50mph are likely more widely.
“Winds will gradually ease from the west during the night, finally easing from the far SE of England around dawn on Thursday.
“Outbreaks of rain, some of it heavy, will accompany the strong winds and will add to the difficult driving conditions.”
Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely whilst outbreaks of rain, occasionally heavy, will add to the difficult travel conditions.
