We have to share

Once again whilst out walking with my two dogs (on a very short, not long lead) a cyclist came past me and shouted, “sorry, love, but you’re on a cycle path”.
We are on a shared pedestrian/cycle path.
Why is it these selfish cyclists think all pathways belong to them.
I am sure if the council wanted to make these pathways bikes only, then a big sign would read, Pedestrians Prohibited or Cyclists Only, but they don’t.
So, until that happens, I suggest we all share these areas with respect and enjoy them for what they are.
It would make life more amicable if both parties adhered to polite protocol for example, keep dogs under control or better still on leads and cyclists should certainly slow down and ring a bell to warn.
