A promotional campaign is being launched to let Exmouth residents know about the increased range of items they will be able to recycle from next year, writes Sean Keywood.

East Devon District Council’s Watch this Space campaign features posters of items which will soon be recyclable, including yoghurt pots, cereal boxes and electric irons. The new recycling service, which will be introduced in the Exmouth area from February, will for the first time collect cardboard, mixed plastics, cartons/Tetra Paks and small electrical items every week from the kerb, alongside previously recyclable items. Collection of waste bins will be reduced to once every three weeks.

The changes follow a successful trial last year in Exmouth’s Colony and Feniton, where the service has continued.

As part of the campaign, the council will also hold roadshow events in Exmouth, before writing to residents about the changes in the New Year.
