Walkies for charity

Dogs and their owners will be taking to Exmouth seafront this Monday for a charity walk.
The event is being organised by Exeter Dog Training Club to raise money for Nowzad, the dog charity set up by Exmouth resident Pen Farthing.
The charity helps serving soldiers to rescue stray dogs they have adopted during tours of duty in Afghanistan. It also provides care and treatment for abandoned stray dogs, cats and donkeys that live there.
Exeter Dog Training Club’s Alicia Forsyth said: “A member suggested that we chose Nowzad as our charity to support during 2011/2012.
“Members were really keen for us to raise money to contribute to the vital animal care work that is so desperately needed in war zones.”
Everyone is welcome to join Exeter Dog Training Club members and Pen Farthing for the walk, which will begin at 2pm outside the new lifeboat station.
Money will be raised through collecting walkers’ donations.
