VOTERS in Exmouth are being urged to register in the lead up to the general election.
The Electoral Commission say that three and half million people who were eligible to vote across the UK in 2005 did not register.
The election is expected on May 6 has been labelled the most important since Margaret Thatcher came to power in 1979.
Commission chairman Jenny Watson said: "If you're not registered, you can't vote - it's very simple.
"Take a few minutes now to make sure that you are able to have your say on election day."
