Bobby Neil and the volunteer staff at The Quiet Mind Centre would like to thank the management of Sophie's Restaurant in Rolle Street for raising £156 for the centre at their quiz night on June 5.The centre (a registered charity) is often a last resort for many financially disadvantaged people suffering from physical or emotional distress. It is due to the wonderful efforts of people like those at Sophie's that the centre continues to be able to offer counselling and complementary therapies to clients. Many people are referred to the centre by their GPs, but no funding is offered to it by the NHS, so it relies on people's generosity through donations and fundraising events.Once again, a big thank you to Sophie's, who are planning a similar evening again next summer.Liz Flynn, Publicity,The Quiet Mind Centre.
