Vital aid cash

On Tuesday, December 6, a fundraising Ladies' Night was organised to raise money for the Novi Survat Charitable Organisation.

I would like to publicly thank Anne Brogan and Steph Denver, who worked so hard organising the event, the RAFA Club, on whose premises it was held, those who gave their time for free (the compere, the ladies who did the fashion show, the mystery guest, the caterers etc) and, especially, the local businesses and individuals who so kindly donated items for the raffle and the auction.

The proceeds from the evening amounted to a magnificent £754 and I am pleased to confirm that every penny of this will go to helping the children in India who we look after, with none being used for administrative purposes.

We have a school for children from the slums, a care home for those suffering from HIV/Aids and a day care centre for disabled children. Without money being raised or donated, these children would have a very bleak future begging, scavenging the rubbish tips or simply dying from malnutrition.

Further information on the work of the charity can be found on our website: or by contacting me via email or telephone 01395 276148.
