REGARDING your article entitled "New centre is in reach" concerning a new visitor centre for Exmouth. The cheaper option, it stated, is for the centre to occupy the second floor of the proposed Asda store - which will include a new sports centre, swimming pool, a visitor cafe and possibly even a library on the estuary lorry park site. The cheaper option? Please don't let your readers believe there are only two options! This is the preferred option of East Devon District Council because (if it were true) it would add to the case for Asda. Our MP has already stuck his neck out by supporting a move to the library for Age Concern, implying that the Asda proposal, not yet on the table, is signed sealed and delivered and that a new, inaccessible library will be provided as an afterthought on the roof of Asda's shed. Shameful, yet again.M Fairclough, 19 Withycombe Road, Exmouth.
