Village shop aid is unfair

REGARDING your recent article about plans to open a shop in East Budleigh. People are all missing the bigger picture here. We would not mind if someone put their hand in their own pocket and opened a shop that would be fair competition. Councillor Flor

REGARDING your recent article about plans to open a shop in East Budleigh. People are all missing the bigger picture here. We would not mind if someone put their hand in their own pocket and opened a shop - that would be fair competition.Councillor Florey said: "There's nothing stopping the Shop on Wheels coming to East Budleigh. Business is about competition."But this shop is being partially funded by local government, which is not fair competition.How dare local government get involved with the demise of another local business - set up to help the people who really need it.Mr J Woods,Shop on Wheels,4 Badger Close,Newton Poppleford.
