A volley of vandalism has hit cars along Withycombe Village Road, causing thousands of pounds of damage.Police have appealed for witnesses after more than 20 cars suffered broken wing mirrors between 1am and 3am on Saturday, March 1.Lindsay Garrett, an administrator of Withycombe Village Road, said: "Apart from the sheer nuisance, it's the expense. It's going to cost me £208 to fix the wing mirror. "I'm a single person so it is easier, but it would be very hard for a young family or a pensioner."Near neighbour Sarah Cockerell, 31, saw both cars parked at her Withycombe Village Road home lose wing mirrors. "It is infuriating," she said. "This is not the first time this has happened to me. It would be nice to see CCTV set up in this road."Exmouth police neighbourhood team Sergeant Nick Southern appealed for information, and urged the public to help officers apprehend culprits. He said: "We have contacted people to ask them to fold their wing mirrors in at night as this drastically reduces damage. We need the public to report these incidents as soon as possible so we can help."Anyone with information can contact Exmouth police on 08452 777444, quoting crime reference number KE/08/572.
