Is it me? Yet again there is another letter about cyclists daring to use the cycle path (National Cycle Network, route 2) from Exmouth to Lympstone. As a local, I use it as part of my daily route to and from work. It is a Godsend. I don't have to risk my life on the A376 out of Exmouth, with all those car owners wishing I was on a cycle path. I have a bell, I use it and also say excuse me, if necessary, but I didn't realise how many non-hearing, or don't want to hear, pedestrians use the cycle path. From a recent letter sent to the Journal, I quote: "I feel that what was once a quiet and peaceful walk has been taken from us locals." Stop me if I'm wrong, but the quiet and peaceful estuary 'footpath' is still there. It runs parallel to the 'new' cycle path. So, if you feel unable to share our 'cycle' path, please feel free to use the original estuary walk instead. Mr M Mulholland,Halsdon Avenue, Exmouth.
