Walkers on Exmouth seafront might think they’ve taken a trip back in time, thanks to a map which the town hall has admitted needs updating.

The map, near Orcombe Point, is one of several around the town arranged by Exmouth Town Council, which point visitors to sites such as the Elizabeth Hall, which was demolished in 2013 to make way for a Premier Inn, and the former Tourist Information Centre service in The Strand, which also closed in 2013.

Town management officer Suzanne Birkett said: “We do need to update them, because things have changed. It is confusing for people, and we do need to do it, but there are at least four or five different ones around the town that we need to do, and are on our project list to do.”

Ms Birkett added that the town council had recently produced an up-to-date Shoppers’ Guide, which was available around the town.
