I think it would be better if East Devon District Council and Devon County Council finished what they have started before spending our money employing LDA Design to produce 23 pages of new ideas.

For more than 50 years, we have asked for a multi-storey car park on the London Inn site where, daily, cars drive round and round trying to park to enable them to spend money in our town centre shops.

Then there was the demolition of a railway station built to last 1,000 years - demolished in less than 100 - to provide a new road that cut the town off from both its bus and railway stations. An operation from which the town has not recovered.

More recently, the Dinan Way link road has been built. Will it ever link? It has certainly put lots of money into the hands of house builders.

The building of colourful beach huts that only face a busy road – it’s like a bad dream in technicolor.

Planning is like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel, never ending or beginning, on an ever-spinning wheel, with Exmouth in the centre of the windmills of their mind.
