EXMOUTH firefighters and the coastguard on Friday lunchtime rescued a man and woman trapped in the mud.

Paramedics were called to Royal Avenue shortly after 2pm and treated the casualties at the scene.
South Western Ambulance Service said the pair were not injured and did not need hospital treatment.
Exmouth firefighters wore dry suits, used fire service lines, a ladder and coastguard equipment in the rescue.
