Carers Week ran from Monday, June 8, to Sunday, June 14, so those living at Manor Lodge Residential Care Home decided to say thank you to staff.

They came up with the idea of baking a cake for the staff, which was shared by staff and residents at the Portland Avenue care home.

Eileen O’Neill, manager at Manor Lodge, said: “As it is ‘Carers Week’ the residents at Manor Lodge decided to do something for the staff to show their appreciation for their hard work, kindness and dedication.

“They came up with the idea of baking a cake for them. It was fun for all and the cake was delicious.

“It was enjoyed by both staff and residents.”
