A TRIBUTE event to former Exmouth town crier Garth Gibson and Shanty Men member John Nettleton is to be held next month.

The Sidmouth Steppers, the Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir and The Exmouth Shanty Men are three of eight acts to perform at the special show, called Heaven's a Bar, at The Exmouth Pavilion on October 2.

Tickets are priced �10 with all proceeds going to local charities.

John Nettleton died in April, aged 58, of a suspected heart attack. Garth, who lived in Exmouth for more than 25 years, died in May and was a much-loved character in the town.
