A group of women looking to get active in a social environment have taken part in a triathlon event in Torbay.

A group of women from Exmouth have taken part in a triathlon event this weekend.

Women from the newly-formed Tri-Hards group took on the three-sport challenge in Torbay
on Sunday.

The triathlon event was aimed at those who are new to the sport and two of the group’s members, Sophie Moore and Joanne Cook, finished in the top five overall of the female division for those attempting the sport for the first time.

The group was formed after Michelle Stammers had the idea to come together with other women to run, cycle and swim in a social environment.

Since its formation earlier this summer, the group has grown to nearly 300-strong and members are looking for their
next challenge.

Michelle said she is really pleased with how the group has taken off.

Some members will be taking part in a hill
run event at Killerton
this weekend.
