A Budleigh travel agent is preparing to take a trip with a difference – flying 15,000ft up in the air, then freefalling back down.

Kate Askew, manager at the Budleigh branch of Bath Travel, is doing a charity skydive to raise money for Dream-A-Way.

The charity, based at Exminster, arranges activities, holidays and days out for people of all ages with special needs, disabilities or serious illness, living in Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Kate, 44, who lives in Exmouth, is one of 11 Bath Travel employees from across Devon who will be taking part in the skydive, at Dunkeswell on April 25.

She is looking forward to the challenge – despite being scared of heights.

She said: “I always wanted to jump out of a plane, but when this came along with Dream-A-Way, I really wanted to do it.

“It’s a really good charity. I am scared of heights, but you have to push yourself to do things like this.

“I just want to raise as much as I can for a really good cause.”

To sponsor Kate, just pop into Bath Travel, in the High Street, visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/bathtravel, or look up the Bath Travel Budleigh Salterton Facebook page.
