PLANS to replace the windows and doors of Christ Church are not being backed by town planners.

PLANS to replace the windows and doors of Christ Church are not being backed by town planners.

Town planners recommended refusal to the plans, falling in line with the conservation officer's report.

Town councillor Ian Stewart said: "This is a 19th century chapel and nobody is denying windows need replacing - we wouldn't be against like for like changes but not PVC."

District planners will make a final decision at the next development control meeting.
