Come on, people of Exmouth, get behind ASDA. Another good supermarket is needed for competition to Tesco. Exmouth is short of shopping areas for a town its size. It has expanded a lot over the past 20 years. ASDA is well priced yet has more luxurious products too. Far from detracting from the town centre, it would help to bring people into town which, if managed properly, would then be regenerated. An M&S or BHS or similar store would not go amiss, either. I noticed when I visited that your sports centre is dated and needs a complete revamp or rebuild. I understand ASDA are prepared to build a much-needed new one for public use.You have nothing to fear. Just look at Poole where they built on the waterfront near to town and helped transform a backwater into an amenity with waterside path/cycle track. It hasn't spoiled the centre. Your town centre is in danger of dying - let's help the regeneration. You won't need to go into Exeter to shop then.Name and address supplied.
