RESIDENTS in Topsham are invited to attend a meeting to discuss planned changes to household refuse and recycling collections.
The meeting will be held in Matthews Hall on Thursday, October 22, at 5pm.
Proposed changes include moving to a four-day, Tuesday to Friday collection week.
The calls also include moving collections from back alleys to the front of properties and introducing bi-weekly collections for those who are currently served on a weekly basis.
Exeter City Council is looking at ways of boosting its recycling rates at saving money.
Converting most of the properties still on weekly collections to bi-weekly could save the authority 100,000 per-year and decrease the amount of waste sent to landfill.
It is felt phasing out back alley collections would also save money and lead to less fly-tipping.
