A group of pupils from Topsham Primary School were crowned Exe Valley Challenge champions.

Four youngsters from year six entered the annual five-mile timed walk around Exeter, finishing in the quay.

They were led by teacher Rob Evans as they used their navigation and organisation skills to arrive at checkpoints at their target times.

The victory marks the second year in succession that the school has won the trophy.

Headteacher Sean Millar said: “We were really pleased with the way the children worked together as a team.

“I’m really impressed with how they organised themselves to be successful in that challenge.”
