TOPSHAM firefighters were called to the city in the early hours of Thursday morning after a fire broke out in a home in Newtown.
TOPSHAM firefighters were called to the city in the early hours of Thursday morning after a fire broke out in a home in Newtown.
Topsham, Exeter and Middlemoor fire crews arrived at the three-storey Portland Street home at around 3.15am.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze and used two main stream jets, a thermal imaging camera and a short extension ladder to tackle the blaze.
All three floors of the terraced home were severely damaged in the blaze.
The ground floor and loft space suffered fire damage and the first and second floors were damaged by smoke.
The cause of the blaze was being looked into by a fire investigation officer.
