Topsham firefighters discover collapsed woman in smoke-logged home

MONDAY, OCTOBER 13 - TOPSHAM firefighters called to reports of an alarm sounding in Nelson Close discovered an elderly woman collapsed in a smoke-logged kitchen.

TOPSHAM firefighters called to reports of an alarm sounding in Nelson Close discovered an elderly woman collapsed in a smoke-logged kitchen.

The fire crew was called to the Topsham home shortly before 9am on Sunday morning, where they immediately asked for an ambulance to attend.

The pensioner was given oxygen at the scene before being checked over by paramedics.

The crew found the fire had involved cooking food, which was out on their arrival.
