TWO fire appliances from Topsham and a road rescue vehicle from Exmouth attended a road traffic accident on the M5 on Friday afternoon at around 2pm, joining crew from Cullompton.

TWO fire appliances from Topsham and a road rescue vehicle form Exmouth attended a road traffic accident on the M5 on Friday afternoon at around 2pm, joining crew from Cullompton.

The accident involved a car, towing a horse trailer containing camping equipment, which had overturned on the southbound carriageway between Cullompton and Sowton, Exeter.

A male child was treated by paramedics at the scene while fire crews made the vehicle safe. The car and trailer were moved to the hard shoulder to arrange removal and the incident was handed over to the police and ambulance teams.
