Plans have been revealed for a state-of-the-art community hub being built on the site of the former Topsham library.

Construction is underway on the Estuary League of Friends-led facility, in Nelson Close, which will have a number of different activities and services.

There will be a new community café, library and IT suite at the new facility as well as a laundrette.

Rooms can be hired for exercise classes, activities, treatments and meetings. There will also be wheelchair-friendly wet rooms.

Once opened, the building will be renamed Nancy Potter House in recognition of the benefactor of a trust which contributed £180,000 towards the build.

Estuary League of Friends chief executive Rachel Gilpin said: “We look forward to opening Nancy Potter House to the public next summer.

“We are already working with others in the community to ensure a wide range of services and fun activities for all the community are on offer at Nancy Potter House.”
