THE Topsham supporters group of the Brooke Hospital for Animals is holding a coffee morning on Saturday May 9 from 10am-noon, upstairs in Matthews Hall.

The group is looking for donations of goods and cakes to sell.

On the day there will be stalls selling bric-a-brac and books and also a raffle and refreshments.

Topsham Brooke Hospital spokeswoman Terri Mason said: "Last autumn we were able to send a cheque for £950 to the Brooke.

"This represented the proceeds from the autumn coffee morning and some generous donations, which together with an earlier cheque, meant we were able to sends a total of £1,700 last year.

"We always receive a letter of profound thanks for the amounts we are able to send and we would like to pass on those thanks to everyone who has sent a donation or attended our coffee mornings.

"It costs just £6.73 to reach one suffering animal so the money you have helped means the Brooke can reach many more horses, donkeys and mules desperately in need.
