TODDLERS at Little Otters pre-school in Otterton did their bit during the Coeliac UK Awareness Week by decorating gluten free cakes and cookies.
Last week saw the annual campaign by Coeliac UK raise awareness of the disease, which sees one in 100 people suffer wheat and grain intolerance.
The activity was arranged by Dot Taylor, campaign organiser for the Exmouth Coeliac Group.
Each child could choose either to decorate a cake or a cookie with a selection of gluten free ingredients. "I think it is great that children learn from an early age that some people have to stick to a certain diet," said Dot from the Exmouth Coeliac Group, and grandmother of Max who attends Little Otters pre-school.

"Many children are diagnosed with the disease, and it makes it much easier if they have already heard of it."
It was a fun packed morning and the children really enjoyed the event. "As a pre-school we strive to be an all-inclusive setting so it is great for everyone here to learn more about coeliac disease." said Michelle Chudley, pre-school leader. "I was amazed how creative the children were." she added.
