Time to get building

I cannot understand why some people are so against the Premier Inn and the site it's being built on.

The picture in the Journal of what the Premier Inn may look like looks great.

It’s new and fresh and will be a huge improvement to the seafront.

It’s the perfect location for it, overlooking the beach; the rooms and restaurant will have lovely views.

There is nothing ugly about it and it’s certainly NOT a monstrosity.

A four-storey building is quite adequate and will blend in nicely with the new ten-pin bowling building.

However, the Elizabeth Hall is ugly, tired, shabby and unsightly; the building has seen its days and it is time it went to make room for something better.

It serves no purpose.

On Sundays the site looks dreadful, tables filled with people’s junk; it’s such an eyesore.

I cringe when I see it and I’m sure lots of other people do.

Exmouth needs a few changes.

I can’t wait to see the Elizabeth Hall knocked down.

My husband and I shall certainly be raising a glass when the Premier Inn is built and up and running.

We and quite a few other people are quite excited about it and very much looking forward to relaxing in nice surroundings looking out to sea – so, hurry up, Whitbread, and get building.
