EXMOUTH residents are to benefit from thousands of extra NHS dental places.

This comes as two dental practices in the town are now accepting an extra 3,000 NHS patients.

The Fairfield House Dental Surgery 10 Salterton Road, Exmouth and Associated Dental Practice (ADP) at 103 Salterton Road are both increasing the amount the of dentist time available .

Andrew Harris, Devon Primary Care Trust's dentistry lead, said: "It is great news that more people in the Exmouth area will be able to see an NHS dentist."

Patients who would like to know how to join either practice in Exmouth should contact the NHS Dental helpline on 0845 002 0034.

Alternatively they can email their details to devondentalhelpline@nhs.net or write to: Devon Dental Helpline, Devon Dental, PO Box 524, Exeter, EX2 8PF including their full name, address, date of birth and telephone number for each patient wishing to join the practice.

Patients who have an urgent dental problem and are without a regular dentist can contact the Exeter Dental Access Centre on weekdays between 9am and 5pm by phoning 01392 405 700 or Devon dental helpline on 0845 002 0034.

Patients that require urgent care outside of normal working hours should contact 01392 823 682.
