An Exmouth charity has received a welcome donation from a group of therapists.

Good Health Exmouth held a fundraising day at Age Concern Exmouth, which meant they were able to present the charity with £220.

The money will go towards providing computer equipment at the charity’s New North Road day centre.

Age Concern Exmouth is not linked to a national head office or AgeUK, and therefore has to generate much of its own funds.

It does this through donations, and also through the services, such as the day centre, home support, and sitting service that it provides for the benefit of those over-50 in and around Exmouth.

Income thus raised covers some of the cost in providing essential and free information and advice to everyone who contacts the charity’s office.

Penny Beerling, a manager at Age Concern Exmouth, said: “We do this in the knowledge that what we do is regarded by many as a lifeline to their individual needs

“The invaluable provision that we can offer is inevitably limited by the funds available, so it is great that Good Health Exmouth gave us all the money raised on their promotional day.”

If you could help Age Concern Exmouth, through donation, legacy, trusts, volunteering or even organising an event, contact Maria Bridle on 01395 271242.
