BUCKINGHAM Palace has announced that Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh will be visiting Exeter on the morning of Thursday March 11.
Further details of the royal visit are still being finalised and will not be released until nearer the time.
Lord Mayor of Exeter, councillor John Winterbottom said was a great honour for the city to play host to the royal couple.
He said: "Her Majesty The Queen last visited the city as part of her Golden Jubilee celebrations in 2002 and was met by our first ever Lord Mayor after she had bestowed Lord Mayoralty status on the city.
"It will be one of the highlights of my year of holding that position to welcome her and the Duke of Edinburgh, to our great city some eight years later.
