Thanking you all

PUBLISHED: 07:00 26 July 2013

Through the auspices of your gracious newspaper, may I take this opportunity to thank the townsfolk of Exmouth who were instrumental in aiding my recovery when all seemed lost.

When I arrived in Exmouth, a frightened, forlorn, broken figure, I was not expected to survive, let alone thrive.

Looking back on those dark and desperate early days it seemed impossible that I would recover from almost lethal wounds to my psyche, but not only did I defeat the odds, I am now flourishing in a way that I have never done before in my whole lifetime.

All I am today is due to you all, and I shall always be indebted to you until the end of my days for paying an integral part in the miracle that is my rise from the edge of despair into the independent, confident person I am today.

Thank you one again, the people of Exmouth, and all those others innumerable to mention, for ‘putting me together again’, unlike Humpty Dumpty.
