FOLLOWING a blaze at a High Street pub, the landlord and landlady have expressed their thanks to everyone who has helped with the clean-up.The kitchen at The Feathers was gutted after a fire started in a plastic bin in the pub courtyard, quickly spread and turned into a raging inferno when the flames hit the fat fryers.Since the blaze, many people have turned out to help get the pub back to full working order.John and Joan Salt, landlord and landlady, said: "We cannot thank everyone enough for all the help and support we have had since the fire at The Feathers. "It is only with this support we have been able to find the strength to get up and get on with it. "Our staff have been fantastic and doing jobs they would not normally do, like our chef clearing away rubble and our kitchen staff cleaning up smoke damaged walls and our bar staff being our secretaries dealing with all calls and saving our potted plants. "We would also like to say thank you for the cards and emails of good wishes and the beautiful flowers and plants we have been given by our great customers. "We want to thank Mike and his family, our new Threshers owners, who have been getting down and dirty in our poor burnt kitchen, which has enabled us to open up our prep and washing up area so we may serve a much reduced menu to keep up continuity. "But, most of all, we would like to thank our staff for the teamwork they have shown and all the help above and beyond the call of duty, this will never be forgotten.
