We have just completed yet another stage in raising funds for the Meningitis Trust in the memory of Lily Hollie.

We have just completed yet another stage in raising funds for the Meningitis Trust in the memory of Lily Hollie. Last November, we were guests at Exmouth's Amateur Boxing Club's big boxing show at the Pavilion, where they presented us with a very generous £210, which was raised through raffle ticket sales. We go back a long way with this club and we thank them so much.In March, we (Lyn Richards, Jackie Norby, Sonia Clapworthy and I) held an evening of clairvoyance at the Moose Hall [not to be confused with any other spiritual group]. It was a sell out and we were forced to close the doors as we were packed to the rafters. The evening brought in another £400.On Easter Monday, we held a toddle waddle and an Easter bonnet parade, the Journal's own Dave Somerton-Rees was ever the hero as Monty the Duck. The afternoon continued with the fantastic Shanty Men who [I learnt later] had just heard of the sudden death of one of their band members. What a tribute, not just to John Nettleton, but to those who carried on, in such a professional manner, our heartfelt thanks to you. That afternoon raised another £212, with more sponser money to come.We would like to thank the following businesses for their support.Tesco Exmouth, which is always ready to give prizes, Halfords Exmouth, which supplied a scooter, Focus for the adorable Dulux dog, and to all those who gave donations and time. Thanks to all who supported us, especially Lyn Richards and Trudy, Dickie and I would like thank them again from the bottom of our hearts, for they have been with us through every step, the bad days and the good, the rain and the sun. Thank you, true friends indeed.Richard and Linda Helliker,Chichester Close,Exmouth.
